The back of the stockings are upholstery grade micro suede. I went with the micro suede on the back as a design choice so the stocking can be used. I found two sides of leather were too stiff to put much in and quite heavy for a mantle. I’m a form AND function kinda designer :-) The micro suede has a nice sheen to it which complements the metallic modeling and still worked well with the cowhide.
